directory. It fixes audio ripping and works now when cdparanoia has the
privileges to rip (which is unfortunately not the case for standard

For some reason, after saving a spreadsheet in the Gnumeric XML format,
the .gnumeric extension it has seemed to be associated with Archiver
instead of Gnumeric. Is this something fixable by MandrakeSoft or is
this a KDE issue?
The .xls extension should probably be assigned to something as well,
On the KDE site there are packages for RH6.2, 7.0, as well as for Suze and
the other distributions, but nothing for Mandrake. If Mandrake is no longer
supporting KDE please let me know and I'll find a distro that does.

I have tried to install 8b1 using upgrade (from working 7.2) now and I still can't get
8 to install. Some poking around using grub's command line reveals that the
/etc/modules and /etc/modules.conf files that 8 installed are unchanged from the 7.2

I'm pretty comfortable. I've compiled several packages and at least a dozen
kernel gens, no issues (other than my own oopses.) It is definitely a

With this morning's rsynced cooker, NFS to the Sun boxes (Solaros 2.6),
and HP boxes (HP-UX 11.00) appears to be working fine,
but still no joy with Mandrake 7.2, and kernel 2.2.18 boxes.

I had the same problems. The rpm2header problem for me was due to the
fact that I was running rpm-3.05 and not 4.0. I changed the rpmtools.pm
file in cooker/misc/ to point to /usr/bin/rpm2header and it works fine now.
