           Product: kdebase

Summary: Paste into Java App fails if Clipboard contains special
chars like german umlauts and jdk1.4 or above are used.

          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2

        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

the same code works fine with a Redhat 8.0 and a Suse 8.0. I tried it with
different installations of a Mandrake (9.0 free, 8.2 (7 disc version, don't
know the name, 8.2 free and Redhat 8.0 (Redhat works fine)) with KDE 3.0.2 and
KDE 3.0.4. I also posted a bug to sun, but they told me, they tested it with a
Redhat 7.3 with KDE 3.0 and with a Suse 8.0 with KDE 2.2.x and couldn't
reproduce it). So I only got this behaviour on a Mandrake (8.2 and 9.0) so far.
If I open the failed webpage into an editor (e.g. kate), I am able to paste the
text...

Forgot to mention: same doesn't happen with java 1.3.x, Sun has reworked the
paste stuff in 1.4 (in 1.3 it was broken).
