I think this is a mistake. I did an RPM with --nodeps, and the kernel
installed fine without adding anything else (like kdeaddutils...)

Using the cooker 2.4.1-8mdk kernel, I noticed the following message in boot
up but everything seems to be working. I tried rebuilding the initrd image.
What is this, I can't find a solution on the web (or is it an issue with the
2.4.1 kernel RPM build?)
kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k
I just verified, when booting from kernel 2.2.17 this message does not come
up but everything else is the same in that area...

I am trying to get the 2.4.1-8mdk smp kernel installed on a 2.2.17 Mandrake

the only cooker addition). I rpm -ivh the headers, source, and docs. I

FQDN is 26 characters (.y.zz..com)
so the total is 33 characters! Name is so longer as it is a subnet on a

FWIW I installed the latest beta on a Gateway dual 450 PC, and while the
installation asked about memory (and it said it saw 512MB), it did not use
more than 64MB when it booted up. The first time I installed (all installs
were fresh) I did not change anything and it saw 64MB. I reinstalled
