Would that have something to do with the Sony PCMCIA cdrom install not
working with 7.1, but with 7.0? I know it's just an ide at a weird
address, ide2=0x180,0x386. I really hope that works in 7.2.

But that still doesn't set up the HD timeout and display timeout for power
saving. The less advanced will suffer on battery life.

er in many strange ways. I think I saw on the
Win4Lin and ReiserFS pages that there is some confirmed incompatibility. I
think Reiser and Trelos have to work together to resolve this
problem. Hopefully they can get to it soon, so people can use both great
products together.

ps, as I had to add "xset dpms 300" to my X startup scripts, as well
as setting the "hdparm -S 36 /dev/hda" to power down the HD.
These changes can benefit the environment on desktops, as well as enhance
battery life on laptops.

st access times, and fast

I regret is no Win4Lin, no devel kernels :(, and no downsizing as I
please.

I noticed that it seems like other distributions have the xapm tool in
their apm packages. It would be nice if it was possible for the maintainer
of the Mandrake RPM to include that in the next version, as the window
manager I'm using (XFCE) has no built-in apm.
