I wanted to install 9.0 beta 3 through my network and it appears that the install has USB problems.
I wrote an network IMG to floppy, booted from it, pressed RETURN (on my USB keyboard), then it gives me a choice of sources, but by then the keyboard didn't work anymore, even numlock didn't work and had to use the reset button.
