All i get is errors about libpng.so.2 and libstdc++.so.3 .. even odder is i
compile the src.rpm and i get the same errors..

Check your /etc/hosts file. Changing the line that read
127.0.0.1localhost.localdomainlocalhost
to
127.0.0.1localhostlocalhost.localdomain
fixed this problem for me. Whether or not this is the way is "should" work
is beyond me.
