Then it's probably a bug in harddrake's database. bttv simply can't drive the 109e:0878 device. btaudio can (included in newer bttv versions). But that should'nt be the problem, you don't need that as sound goes throuth the small cable from the hauppauge to the soundcard's line-in. BTW: have you checked the mixer settings? alsa for example has everything muted by default...
