Another "Me to" but I did look a bit closer at the problem.
I have locale en_US.UTF-8 and /etc/init.d/mandrake_consmap is installed and I
guess triggers the problem.

FYI. On MDK 9.1 RC1, tried to do the install to raid1 and mailed on mkraid.
"modprobe md" gave a pile of unresolved symboles, something is broken here.
