I'm sure it's no longer valid. Seems to me that as long as one uses the current mdk
kernel, all should be well.

The problem persists for me. In my case it affects the owner module.
I get: iptables: Invalid argument when I use it.

Just download the SRPM and rebuild with rpm --rebuild
iptables-1.2.7a-1mdk.src.rpm, that worked for me. Alternatively you can
download the tarball from netfilter.org,
