please suppress double slash from kdmrc ! it breaks some applications
searching for the availability of programs in the system (k3b for
example).

Still valid in kdebase-kdm-3.1-28mdk. The problem lies in
kdebase-3.0-config-kdmrc in the SRPM sources which includes the
following entries:
