drakboot uses the package autolgin to provide this feature. autologin doesnt
use the possibility of kdm/gdm as it seems.

It appears to me that the bug is in drakboot. As long as I enable autologin in
kde, logout options are presented as per info set in kde convenience options.

This isn't a kde-bug and kwin does not need to be patched. The problem here
is autologin. XDM_MANAGED needs to be set otherwise kde thinks it is started
from console

This is not a MDK issue. This is the behaviour as designed by KDE's kwin. Kwin needs
patched to change this behaviour. Please post this bug/wishlist item on kde's
