           Product: drakxtools
         Component: diskdrake
Summary: unable to read partition table after instalation is
                    done.
           Product: drakxtools
           Version: 9.2-10mdk
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: diskdrake
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have a PC: P4 2.66GHz, 512MB DDRAM, 111GB DD etc.
Windows XP (hone edition on 40GB partition) and Suse 8.2 were installed on and
run successfully.
I wanted to test mandrake 9.2RC2 because the sound and sis900 Ethernet card on
board and the TV-Tuner Philips 7134 were not recognised by Mandrake 9.1.

Partition table before mandrake 9.2RC2
Windows XP 40GB
FAT32 13.2 MB

SuSe 8.2 Linux
/ 2 GB ext2
swap 800 MB ext3
/usr 5 GB ext3
/home 50 GB ext3

These partitions were successfully obtained with diskdrake of Mandrake 9.1
before the installion of SuSe 8.2.

To install Mandrake 9.2rc2, the home (Suse linix) partition was reduced to 25 GB
and the remainder was divided into tree partitions during the installation.

/ 600 MB ext2
swap 760 MB.
/usr 5 GB ext3
/home 18.6 GB ext3

I created a second (new) swap partition because Diskdrake didn't allow to
recognise the first one as mount point. But it was recognised as swap partition.

The installation was successful without problem.

When I reboot the computer as suggested at the end of installation, there was no
reference of SuSe 8.2 installation. I can boot with windows XP, mandrake
9.2rc2 and floppy disk.

Now I have only windows XP and mandrake 9.2rc2. I mounted the home partition of
SuSe 8.2 in mandrake 9.2rc2 and beurned all the contain on CDs.

I wanted now to remove all SuSe partition and install mandrake 9.2rc2, I'm
almost satisfy with 9.2RC2 (only the TV-Tuner is not recognised). But Diskdrake
is unable to read partition table and propose to install on existing partions or
on the whole disk.

It also indicated tha it is possible to resolve the problem, but all partitions
will be destroyed.

Is It possible to resolve the problem without loss of windows XP partition?
