Could be a problem with the GNOME ui of totem. Do you have crashes with other
GNOME apps as well?

The error would show up in the file .xsession-errors, but you could also start
totem from the konsole:
totem mp3file

Sorry, it doesn't write anything in that logfile - and executed from command
line it only says:

I deleted everything in the .gnome2 - dir in my homedirectory that looked like
totem, and in fact it didnt crash while doing nothing this time. But as soon as
