I tested it this morning with the 2.4.22-10 kernel still does the same thing. I
can preview but not scan. I even tried dl the latest sane xsane source and
compiled

I installed the kernel 2.4.21-0.13mdk from 9.1 and the scanner work like it
supposed to. So the problem I'am having is releated to the kernel.
