All worked fine for RC1 ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: RESOLVED creation_date: description: beta-2 Install first run, Blank HD nothing else on it. Running installer in the auto mode. Wheel on wheel mouse doesn't work, you know this, just repeating it. ALL IS FINE UNTIL PACKEAGE INSTALL. The following packages failed to install, gave the dialog with click OK to go on. Click it and install proceeds, minus the offending package. Packages are from Beta2 CD1 and CD2. Xfree86-devel-4.2.99.4-020030110.1mdk.i586 Xlockmove-5.04.4mdk.i586 Xine-ui-0.9.17-2mdk.i586 xmms-1.2.7-1mdk.i586 xmms-mesa-1.2.7-16mdk.i586 xterm-172-2mdki586 xmms-arts-0.4-8mdk.i586 xmms-skins-1.0.0-13mdk.noarch Reached the 'summary section. Keyboard not displayed, blank button. Click on button the select dialog comes up. US keyboard was selected. Clicked OK and then the US Keyboard tag was displayed. Confusing to new user? Back to summary page ... clicked on printer button, expecting to get the info about the printer. Instead the installer ran and installed the printer. Leaving me to think huh? what is going on now. Asked for CD1 OK then asked for CD2 ... Hung in a loop here. So cancel and proceed. Printer setup wizard shows up asking for printer input. Auto-detect selected. No printer found. Correct, there is no printer on this system. But dead-end loop going back to Auto-detect page. Finally hit previous and the list of all shows up, where I went into printer hell, as I will call it. The trigger event was to select the printer from the list with keyboard and so on. Didn't have to, but poked at installer to see what would happen. At this point proceeded to install ending up with Congratulations blah blah. OK out comes the CD, hit boot. Boot fired up and proceeded normally. Running system seems OK, despite of install errors. First observation, character size is too big and bold. Looks cartoonish. But fonts are much improved in Mozilla, my favorite browser. Would be happy to re-run with updates to installer, just point me to it. snooker
