Overall, the 8.2 upgrade was smooth as glass, but where it did fail,
I probably only recovered by being expert. This is on a Dell L700CXE

First off, this is an upgrade of a system that has been upgraded
with each release since 7.0, so if we're generating cruft, this system
has run into it ;)

1) First boot seems to hang right after loading nfs, but hitting return
   puts the screen on the console login; probably appears to stop there
   because of (2)

2) GDM failed to load because the agpgart module was not loaded when X
   started; this is odd -- is it because depmod -a was not run? If I
   log in as root and modprobe agpgart, gdm will start on the next refresh

3) using diald, there is a monitor pipe /tmp/diald.fifo, and for some
   reason, this has to be deleted before diald will even attempt to connect;
   could there be some change in pipes in ext2? Very curious this one.

4) XFConfig-4 loses the Emulate-3-button setting and there's no
   obvious way to get it back.

That's it (so far) I ran KDE, but I don't really use it, so I can't
comment. It started, that much I know.
