I've had this problem too. You cannot unmount /home if it was NFS.

NFS was enabled in my 8.2 install, and it interferes with clean shutdown.
The shutdown process hangs indefinitely with the error Unmounting NFS
failed. Fortunately I didn't need nfs so I disabled it. But , if it were
needed this might be a problem , so I thought I'd let you know.

8.2(rc1) is the first Mandrake release that consistently shuts down,
unmounting my NFS home, but it could just have been a configuration
error on my side with Mandrake 8.0 and 8.1.
Are you guys with these problems running:
- -portmap
- -nfslock
