Very weird. I finally got the sound system to work on my Gateway Solo 9100 laptop. The sound is a Yahama chip OPL3 compatible. Running sndconfig would always come up with an error opening /dev/audio. On a lark I tried Windows Sound System instead of OPL3 - and it worked. IT DOES seem to still use the OPL3 module, but loads module AD1848. Is this normal? 7.2 didn't do this - sndconfig would work fine in 7.2 with the OPL3 selected, along with appropriate addresses and IRQ's V.
