Last Thursday, I did an update to my Cooker box and saw that it updated
kde3.  kdebase3 is now at 3.0-18mdk.  But I didn't restart KDE3 or
reboot it until today when the new kernel appeared. Now all of my icons
are gone from the kicker toolbar. In ~/.kde/share/config/kickerrc, it
points to /usr/share/applnk-mdk/*, but none of the apps pointed to are
there.  For example, from kickerrc:
   [URLButton_1]
   FreeSpace=0
   URL=/usr/share/applnk-mdk/Terminals/konsole.desktop
   [URLButton_2]
   FreeSpace=0
   URL=/usr/share/applnk-mdk/KControl.desktop
   <snip>
None of the *.desktop or */*.desktop files exist. A good example is
that Terminals/konsole.desktop is not present any more.

Is the problem that the files are missing, or is the problem that the
config file didn't get updated when kdebase3 was upgraded?

Blue skies...           Todd
