I've noticed that the man-pages package replicates man pages from other
packages. Should not the man pages be installed with their particular
app and any thing left be included in the man-pages package?

I have seen a similar behaviour with both the KDE and Gnome desktop
environments including app start files for packages put together
seperately. The net effect is that you get all of these menu entries for
programs that may not actually be installed.

It strikes me that the correct way to do this is via the specific
program package and not through jumbo packages that over replicate
information. Cuts down on the rpm errors too.
