Hi all

Although some things went wrong (more about that later), the upgrade to
9.2rc1 resulted in a system (laptop, P4 i845 ICH3 NVIDIA) that worked with
the mandrake kernel, I could install the NVIDIA drivers without problems and
both sound and graphics on the TV-OUT worked perfectly after configuration.

This may sound normal, but for this particular hardware [1] this is very
good news indeed!

The things that went different than perfect:

- konsole was gone after upgrade, I assume this is because of the splitting
of KDE rpms? Very critical to get this right before 9.2!

- when I choose to "download security patches/updates" during install, I'm
not prompted for a mirror, no updates appear and drakx goes on to
congratulate me on the successful install. This is a problem since 9.1
betas, I'm at a loss why this major bug isn't fixed!

- it would be nice to have a way to easily configure lilo during the new
installation to boot all existing linux/windows OSs that are installed.
(even when the other OS's partition isn't mounted on the new installation)

- My other install (9.1)'s root partition (/etc/shadow was the worst) got
messed up (but I don't know of this is in any way related to the install)

Cheers

Simon
