ok. i've solved the mozilla prefs problem. i rebuilt and installed
gtk+-1.2.10-25mdk.src.rpm with gcc-3.1 and the prefs reappeared.

1) opening mozilla preferences (edit prefs) shows all the preferences
unmarked and marking (checking the boxes as appropriate) only results
in them not being shown when the
