After installing 82beta4, installing two RPMs post install, and then 
doing some config changes, I got rpm segfaults.

It turns out that RPM is segfaulting if ldap is listed before files in 
the passwd section of nsswitch.conf (which I was doing to have a local 
account in /home/bgmilne, which would work if ldap dies, where my normal 
nfs/ldap account is in /home/users/bgmilne, where /home/users is an nfs 
mount.

So I guess it is not too serious, but someone might want to look at it 
some time ...
