I got the driver from iomega "atapi-container-lnx-x86-2214.tgz" and did a tar xzv... and got a "atapi-container-lnx-x86-2214.tar" but now I can not seem to UN-tar the tar file and view the read me.txt file that will explain all.....:).....so anyway the /proc/ide/hdd/(whatever) is blank. I have echo the /dev/hdd4 and /mnt/zip to fstab and mtab and it does appear when I look in the file but when I click on the desk icon for kde it says " Could not mount error log : mount: can't find /dev/hdd4 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab" . but I can mount /dev/hdd4 auto /mnt/zip and the drive does make some noise but no pictures to look at on kde. I did the ln -s /dev/hdd4/hd?4 /dev/zip that David Talbot sent me to no apparent use but it did make something I'm sure because I got after the second time I did it "ln: /dev/zip: File exists". if I have not lost you completely then wait until next week when I post an email again Lee Queen [EMAIL PROTECTED]
