Any chance /etc/sysconfig/apmd CHANGEVT could default to 0? It seems to help alot on the resumes at least on thinkpads. Other than that that this looks like a winner so far. 8.0 is gone off my laptop... (I still get the occasional message about CPU overload from the sound server from resume.
