Hey,
Zope 2.6.0 is out, and the folks over at Polish Linux have it compiling

I have built a set of Zope packages but I will not maintain them. If
you send me patches, I'll integrate them but I will not debug
problems. I have only built them to

Except that Zope has a worse security history than bind... =( And
that's saying a lot.

Yes, because there were quite some problems with the current python
version, IIRC.

Zope pretty much shows up on security lists weekly with some new flaw
discovered. I have little room to talk, since I'm probably not a good
coder by any stretch of the imagination, but I think they may have
called Zope done well before they should have. (They must have a
marketing department.)

I notice Zope is no longer in the Mandrake distribution. Is there
any reason for this? (I don't use it, but I've been asked about it)
IIRC, it was because it's incompatible by the Python version used by

Hi.
Could you elaborate a little bit on why it is the most insecure...etc.?

It's nice to see some interest in Zope on the Cooker mailing list. I use
Zope out of my Win98 box, mainly because it is so easy to install "out of
the box". If Zope could be made to install easily on Mandrake-Linux, GREAT!!
Here's what I know about Zope.

Yo,
I've been interested in Zope for a while, it seems like a promissing
application platform... Mandrake provides Zope packages.
Here are my observations about Zope (please correct me if I'm wrong):
1) The Zope version in the 7.2 updates is newer than the Zope version in
cooker;
2)
http://linuxgazette.com/issue57/nielsen2.html
has a great example of how to use Zope. Apache. and Python together.
mod_snake and such are available pretty easily. The author of the article

2) Zope seems to require python 1.5, the Zope package in cooker doesn't
compile due to this -- mymath.h seems to be needed, see:
http://d10179.upc-d.chello.nl/build/cooker/alpha/problem/Zope-2.1.6-4mdk.src.rpm.txt.
The 2.2.4 package from the 7.2 updates produces similar results when

Yes please. Very nice web development program.

Hi.
I wondered if you have considered Zope as a program to include in the
distribution.
I would like you to.
