I have had this problem. Solution that I use: choose hard disk as your install method. Then choose the appropriate driver (mesh) when you are prompted. Simply hit cancel when your drive shows up. If you are missing drives (external for instance), choose the mac53c94 driver as well. Cancel out

As far as I know, you can't format that partition in OSX. What you do is use the OSX Disk Utility to create the partition as "Free Space" (remember to uncheck the 'install OS9 disk drivers' box), then let Mandrake do the format. OSX will not see the data on the linux partition, no matter wher

I know this is a stupid question but if I would like to format the unix partitions in OS X, how do I do that? Now they are formatted by Mandrake and OS X cant see them. But if in want to erase them in OS X? (and find them in OS X) Thanks /stefan
