OK, this must rank as one of the most bone-headed questions, but I can't
seem to find ping...:P I've done a fairly basic install of Mandrake onto my
machine, but I guess I expected ping to be installed. I can't seem to find
an RPM on the CD for it, though I did find an RPM for traceroute. I've

is there an RPM on the CD that includes ping?
rpm -qf `which ping` on an x86 redhat machine at work gives
iputils-20001010-1
rpmfind.net would probably also have helped you out here.
