like pineapple, substitute soft cream cheese and a tablespoon or two of your
favorite preserves.
INGREDIENTS:
16 oz.
Banana-Stuffed French Toast with Streusel Topping
2 tablespoons plus 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
2 tablespoons plus 1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons water
2 large ripe bananas, peeled, cut into 1/2-inch-thick rounds
1 1-pound unsliced loaf egg bread, ends trimmed, bread cut
into 6
OVERNIGHT FRENCH TOAST
1 long French loaf
8 lg. eggs
3 c. milk
4 tsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/3 c. melted butter
Grease well two 13x9x2 inch baking pans. Cut bread into one inch thick slices.
Arrange in one layer in pans.
Beat together eggs, milk, sugar, salt and
