Yes I make sandwiches on it and expect them to be flatened based on the materials used to make the sandwich. Cheese melts and if bread isn't thick to start, it too wil get thinner unless you use the pancake plaets which allow for some hollow space between those plates.On Mon, 31 Jan 2011, Tara

Hi there miranda. This bread machine has the buttons on it. There is the digital pannel, but with the beeps it is all audible, as long as you don't forget how many beeps to each thing there is. Not sure about the bread maker manual on line, but as far as my research goes, I didn't see anything.
