I wonder if you couldn't just leave the layers whole and cut down somehow on
the amount of filling/frosting. I don't know; it's just an idea. I love
the idea of splitting layers but have never had the nerve to try it, either.
If anyone has found a good technique for splitting, please pass it on!
I have a similar recipe. I bring my butter to close to room temperature first;
in other words, not directly out of the fridge and it works beautifully for me.

Hi, Carrie,
I just read through the recipe; I would just follow the directions and make
sure the butter is softened; add it with the bananas as the recipe directs. If
you have a good electric mixer, this should be easy.
Good luck!

Hello,
In my other banana bread recipes, you beat the butter and sugar first.
Since your recipe doesn't ask for this, I was wondering if when you made
this if you first melted the butter?
Thanks, Carrie

I have not done it. I can't get the nerve up to try to split layers. My
mom has made this cake and it is good.

A Bundt pan is kind of like an angelfood cake pan, except the Bundt pan has
ridges around it, where an angelfood cake or tube pan is straight.

Hi there,
Interesting recipe. Not being from the US, I'm not familiar with a "bunt"

Thanks,
