Yes. The previous post was talking about using a stereo-capable CRT and
Nuvision emitter/glasses. The only LCD stereo option for Macs are the
Zalman LCDs.

active (or quad-buffered, sequential, hardware) stereo 3D is possible on
a MacPro, at least with a Nvidia Quadro card with a 3-pin Mini-DIN
socket, Stereographics/realD or NuVision shutter glasses and emitter,
and a suitable CRT monitor. But those are hard to find, nowadays (i.e.,
... and of course, when I plugged in the Stereographics emitter, I used
also the Stereographics shutter glasses, just to make that point clear ...

I don't have the hardware to test it on, but as far as I am aware, it will do
active stereo. At least that is the intention.
