UNIVERSAL Technologies has an exclusive, immediate multi-year opportunity in Brooklyn, NY for a *Senior .NET Programmer/Analyst (Back Fill Position)* to support the Development and modernization of an enterprise content management system. *Client: NYC, DOE (Department of Education)* *Duration: One year left on existing contract, two year extension likely * *Working hours: 35 hours/week* *NOTE: In person interview.* *Mandatory in person interview required* The person fulfilling this role will work under the general direction of a Team Lead with latitude for independent initiative and judgment and shall be responsible for developing web-based applications in .NET SQL environment using the latest open source tools like Angular 4.0. Candidate will be involved in all phases of project development including but not limited to planning, designing, developing, installing, enhancing, testing, troubleshooting, integrating and supporting the application. *MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE * - 10 years of applicable work experience designing and developing Web applications using Visual Studio.NET, ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#.NET, SQL Server - 8 years of experience with MS SQL Server, designing database tables, stored procedures and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages - 4 years of experience with .NET Web Services, WCF or Web API - 6 years of experience working on reporting tools like Crystal Reports or Cognos BI. - 4 years of experience in MVC, including Entity Framework, Telerik/Kendo controls - 4 years of experience with HTML5, AJAX, jQuery, AngularJS, JSON, JavaScript, Bootstrap - 1 year of experience with NodeJS, Angular 2.0 or 4.0 - 4 years of working experience in Test Driven Development (TDD). - 4 years of experience in Agile/Scrum development methodology. *DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:* - Experience with responsive and/or adaptive design. - Experience in continuous integration/continuous deployment. - Familiarity with NoSQL solutions such as Redis. - Familiarity with Enterprise Service Bus architecture. - Cloud architecture, development, deployment and hosting experience with Azure. - Understanding of authentication/authorization mechanisms like OAuth2, OpenID and SAML. - Ability to design and implement solutions that are reliable, scalable, and perform at a high-level to meet the service levels associated with mission-critical solutions. - Ability to define and implement migration strategies from legacy systems to new architecture and technologies. *Responsibilities:* - Develops and implements phases of the computerized system development life cycle, including conceptual design, software development, testing, deployment, and post-implementation enhancements of applications utilizing Visual Studio.NET with SQL Server for data management and Active Directory for identity management, in accordance with Department of Education standards. - Analyze requirements and data access needs, propose file, and screen designs.
