*Duration: 12+ **Months* *ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES – (Detailed Tasks and Duties):* Implement strategies to assure the high availability of the department’s process control and data historian systems. Optimize tuning and control strategy with the objective to minimize process variability and consequently maximize machine availability and quality performance while minimizing waste. Continually improve the machine alarm strategy to minimize reaction time in case of process abnormalities. Develop and implement control strategy for new installations. Design and implement industrial automation including PLC (programmable logic controller) programming, implementation of industrial networks and selection of field devices. a. Rockwell Control Logix processor programming and logic experience; min. ver 28, 3 year min. b. Solid ladder logic and interlock logic capabilities. c. FT View Studio for ME or SE development experience. d. Worked in Rockwell PlantPAX distributed environment using server systems. e. Exposure to DCS environment(s); WDPF background desired. f. Networking experience desired; DLR & Ethernet I/P switch programming exposure g. Knowledge of PID control algorithms and implementation. Troubleshoot production problems affecting quality, waste or machine availability and implement corrective actions to prevent re occurrence. Provide technical support off-hour on an as needed basis, to a 24/7 manufacturing operation. Support operations: Provide training to increase overall knowledge about the process. Identify opportunities to simplify operational procedures (through poke yoke and automation for example) and therefore reduce variability in the outcomes of the operational interventions. Suggest procedure changes to improve safety, process performance and product conformance. Coach maintenance Mechanics on best way to address problems in area of responsibility.
