In my view that more or less sorts it.  I knew nothing about your other
connection with Drumadds (spelling varied).  Good luck with the Fergusons, they
are numerous, some in and around Ardtrea.  Although its for a later period, the
wills available on the PRONI website might show a few Fergusons who had
property to bequeath in Tyrone and in the Coagh/Moneymore area.
If you can narrow the area, there might well be a Ferguson gravestone,
especially if, as the story says, the Ferguson connection were relatively
wealthy.

I actually wondered the same myself- Townland rather than town. Drumad rather
than Dramas. One of the Caulfield daughters married James B. Happer and they
resided in Drumadds.Peggy

I wonder if this could be the townland of Drumadds, near Coagh?  Never heard of
a  Lord Ferguson, or his castle in East Tyrone.    Maybe it's an exaggerated
version, where the reality might have been a wealthy farmer with a larger house
than usual.    Lots of Fergusons in that area of NE Tyrone.

reading old family letters written abt 1960 regarding the family back in Co.
Tyrone. The most recent letter repeats that Bettie Ferguson was the daughter of
Lord Ferguson/Fergusson, that she lived in a castle, and that she eloped with
the groomsman James Caulfield and that would be about 1785. Former letters said
it was Samuel Caulfield. Anyway, this  letter says that the castle was in the
town of Dumas in Co. Tyrone.Does anyone have knowledge of this town and its
castle?Thank youPeggy_______________________________________________
