The current version of courier.spec contains a small typo in the call to
alternatives:
/usr/sbin/alternatives --install /usr/sbin/sendmail mta
/usr/lib/courier/bin/sendmail 91\
...
It needs a space before the backslash. Otherwise, sh thinks that the
tab character on the next line is tab for com

Restore a given dump to a different folder. As long as all folder access is
via IMAP
I have run into a problem with backing up and restoring Maildirs using
Courier imap. Message file names have flags appended at the end for their
status - R,S and T(?) Reply'd, Seen, and Trash (?), which to my backup
software makes them different files... So I end up with multiple files
