Hi,
I replaced the "courier-imap.spec" file in the .tar archive with the
new one where I made the changes as follows:
%define _prefix /opt/courier-imap
...
%configure \
--with-authdaemonvar=%{authdaemondir} \
--without-authmysql \
--enable-workarounds-for-imap-client-b
What is the correct user? I did run maildirmake, and
the directories do exist, but I think I might have the
wrong user owning those directories.

Its documented. It uses the home column + "/Maildir/" or it obeys the
content of the home column + a .courier file or, if there's something
in the maildir column in the database it uses that instead.

Oops, RTFM solved the problem:
I just used the "..set imappw" to set the IMAP password but I completely
forgot to issue also the "..set pop3pw" for POP3, i.e.:
# userdbpw | userdb "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" set imappw
# userdbpw | userdb "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" set pop3pw
# makeuserdb

Hello. Is there a way to get courier to accept email from clients like
O'[EMAIL PROTECTED]? Currently I get an error and the email is rejected. Although the
sender gets no notice of the rejection. Thank you.

You either need the vpopmail library in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH, or you
need to tell configure not to use it (--without-authvchkpw). If you're
not planning on using vpopmail, I'd just turn it off. If you are
planning on using it, you can grab the latest dev build (reasonably

Hi Gurus.
Maybe one of you can provide me with hints to solve this problem?
I've installed QMail, Courier-imap and Squirrelmail. I'm using both local
and virtual users (the latter authenticated through userdb) and I can
read/send mail via Squirrel webmail from/to any of these accounts without

Dear all,

The server comes with qmail+vpopmail (vchkpw) +courierimap, and pop configured
