I'm trying to get IMAP authenticating via MySQL. As
near as I can tell I have authmysqlrc set up properly.
The authmysql module is in the auth modules list in
authdaemonrc. MySQL is running, the ID & password
work. However, I never see any authentication queries

Dears,
I've setup a new mailserver with postfix-courier and mysql.
The full postfix configuration works fine.
Sending mail to server.domain --> postfix checks the user in mysql
(virtual_mailbox) and delivers correctly to the maildir.
The problem comes with courier and authmysql.

I found the solution. It was my mistake...
authmysqlrc says:
# Each line in this file must follow the following format:
# field[spaces|tabs]value
and my configuration missed the spaces...
Now it's working well.

Hi,
I wish to authenticate my IMAP users through a mysql database.
I configured and installed Courier IMAP 1.5.3 (from source) and Mysql
3.23.49 (from RedHat 7.3 rpm) on a RedHat 7.3 box.
Courier is listening for connections on port 143, but is does'nt perfom

OK, I got to the point where ps shows:
/usr/lib/courier-imap/libexec/authlib/authdaemond.mysql start
and
/usr/lib/courier-imap/libexec/couriertcpd -address=0 \
-stderrlogger=/usr/lib/courier-imap/libexec/logger \
-stderrloggername=imapd -maxprocs=50 -maxperip=50 \
