That is incredible growth, Kyo!
Does anyone know if there's a running total somewhere of the number of
coworking spaces worldwide? I've heard some different numbers, and
it's obviously changing quickly. When I look at the directory in the
coworking wiki, I don't see an obvious way to get a total
I'm putting together a plan for a better list on the wiki and I'll present
it at the conference in March. Jonathan Yankovich is working on the
prototype and Chelsea McClain and I are organizing a fundraiser and
building a team. If anyone is interested in talking about the project, let
me know
I'll keep it brief, but wanted to let the list know that I'm holding my
next coworking foundations workshop for catalysts founders on Sunday
February 19th. It's virtual, so you can attend from anywhere in the world.

Craig: Super helpful rule of thumb and thanks for the article! The space I
was looking at was actually around 6000sf, 3000 is area where we can set up
desks, the other 3000 is meeting room, lounge, kitchen, etc, but that is
shared, so we wouldn't be able to seat people there.
Great point about
Depending upon your lounge, that place is rentable if you have café seating, or
even convert the lounge into a rentable meeting/event space.

What Jerome said, +++
Just because it's not desks doesn't mean it's not workspace. Our lounges,
kitchen/cafe, and other non desk areas are almost *always* occupied, and
not by people sitting around waiting for a desk to become available.
