Hi Everyone,
It's Toby from Citizen Space, it's been a while since we posted to the
group, we have had our heads down here working on our brand new space,

How long is your membership agreement?
To answer your question, it depends. We have a mix of memberships, though,
as it looks like you do.
In general, everybody is month to month and everybody pays up front for the
oncoming month. Bills go out mid month and are due before the first of the
Hi Jon,
I'm making all the people that I've been talking to as well as the current
members of the newly created LinkedIn groups, aware of the Google group
you've created. My space owner / operator contacts are a mixed group of

Awesome quick responses and very helpful. I know all of my members well -
I just think I've done a poor job of drawing attention to the 30 days

Well, that's a convincing endorsement! Thanks!

Thanks! I'll check out Canvas--I'm a lazy District dweller who probably

We do this as well as a deposit that is refunded so long as 30 days notice is
given.
It prompts the explanation of the expectations, as well as provides that
financial buffer for us in case people find themselves in a situation where
they need to leave with less notice.

My view is that I want to provide as much flexibility as possible while
giving myself a little window during which I can replace revenue if I lose
someone.
I imagine this is most relevant when dealing with a smaller number of larger
tenants whose revenues are more painful to lose and more

And for those with dedicated areas, 1-mo notice is very fair. I can see your

People leaving abruptly has not been a problem for us. It's happened a few

I do agree with Tony - it burns me as a consumer to pay for a month of

We only take a deposit and ask for 30 days notice from our Resident
members. Even then, we are generally pretty flexible with the deposit.
We've kept the deposit in cases where we only had a few days notice, or
once when someone cleared out at 7AM on the day their billing went through.
