The data is at best incomplete in terms of the number of coworking
facilities, especially historic data. We did a count of U.S.
coworking facilites last summer and there were 252 US facilities based
on our defintion. We also did rough counts in 2008 and 2009 and we
have a chart showing the growth
The total stats about total numbers range from 400 to 600 in the
world. This number fluctuates based on what people classify as
'coworking' and when it was published. The explosive growth of
coworking spots throughout the world in the last 6 to 9 months really
makes the number difficult to pin poin
