[css-d] rounded corner border image box create the box

Quick question on why doesn't my first box create the box with the rounded corners and the border from the images in CSS3 HTML 5? The 2nd box works but the first one doesn't. I have a little star image in the htdocs. Seems like it should work. http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional

[css-d] validation error on closing tag
