-Caveat Lector- Brothers and Sisters, This creature is sucking us dry by traipsing all over the world! In selecting your candidate for President (don't be foolish and select another member of The National Socialist Democratic Republican Party) make damn sure his/her spouse plays a more traditional role of supporting his/her spouse. I seriously doubt if Mrs. Buchanan would saddle us taxpayers with outrageous travel expenses. Need I remind you that the only way we are going to unshackle the chains on our Freedom is to vote for a constitutional conservative who will restore our Republic. The time for our 'revenge' is not too far distant; let's not miss the opportunity! I pray Mr. Buchanan will make the right decision. "From the rage of today's downtrodden comes the revenge of tomorrow's revolutionary force." ----Edward Britton The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism', they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened. --- Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Presidential candidate XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUNDAY, OCTOBER 03, 1999 22:48:55 ET XXXXX HILLARY'S NEW 'RAINBOW TOUR' TO COST TAXPAYERS MILLIONS First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton is set to begin a new international tour that will take her to Poland, Slovakia, Italy and Iceland -- at a cost of more than three million dollars! The trip [set for Oct. 5 to Oct. 10] will bring the number of countries Hillary has visited to 74, during 25 solo trips abroad since her husband took office in 1993. The globetrotting has broken all travel records for U.S. first ladies. Past solo destinations for Mrs. Clinton have included Russia and China, Egypt and Brazil, El Salvador and Sri Lanka. Hillary staffer jokingly call the First Lady's travels "The Rainbow Tour," a reference to political trips taken by Argentinean First Lady Eva Peron. The First Lady's press secretary [Hillary's, not Evita's] announced over the weekend: "Throughout the trip, the First Lady will underscore the importance -- as we approach the new millennium -- of working with non-governmental organizations on issues of civic participation, human rights and social investment; encouraging the economic empowerment of women; and preserving the world's cultural heritage for future generations." Hillary's schedule takes her to 4 nations in 4 days, with an itinerary, obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT, that runs 16 printed pages! The First Lady will be in non-stop motion from the moment her plane touches down shortly after midnight on Tuesday at the Okecie Airport in Warsaw, Poland. [The First Lady will be in Warsaw, Poland October 5; in Bratislava on Oct. 6; in Florence, Italy, on Oct. 7; and in Reykjavik, Iceland, from Oct. 8-10.] Day #1, Mrs. Clinton will have an audience with the President and Prime Minister of Poland; later, and she will deliver a "major address on encouraging the development of civil society and democracy." Press secretary Marsha Berry continues, "The First Lady will visit a newly established school to serve Polish Jewish children, and participate in a roundtable discussion with small business owners at a local textile factory to highlight the economic empowerment of women and microenterprise development... But it's the high cost of this week's trip that has become a point of concern for Hillary enthusiasts. The escalating costs of protecting the First Lady and her staff while they are abroad has pushed the price tag of these adventures through the millions. One State Department source estimates that the total cost to U.S. taxpayers for this week's trip will reach $3 to $7 million. The White House refuses to reveal exact costs, citing security concerns. The First Lady will travel on her own plane, an Air Force Boeing 707, and will bring along her own press aides and other staffers. Staff members have been sent in advance to make arrangements for events. The highlight of the trip could come in Florence, when the First Lady will address the "Conference on Financing, Resources, and the Economics of Cultural and Sustainable Development," sponsored by the World Bank. [To ease the burden on the U.S. Treasury, could someone at least get the World Bank to comp the rooms?] ----------------------------------------------------------- Filed by Matt Drudge Reports are moved when circumstances warrant http://www.drudgereport.com for updates (c)DRUDGE REPORT 1999 We don't need a 3rd Party; we need a 2nd Party!
