Have you ever heard about this Muslim group or where it came from or how it happened to be in Oklahoma City? Probably not. Not if you get your news from the TV Networks or the newspapers. When Saddam Hussein's army was collapsing and being annihiliated in Desert Storm, about 350 of his elite troops (called "Republican Guards") surrendered in Kuwait. These Iraqi soldiers were taken to Saudi Arabia and held in a compound for several months. They appealed for "political asylum" in the United States. Bill Clinton felt their pain. Clinton ordered that these Iraqis be brought to the U.S. He allowed them to come into our country and given government assistance in settling in groups. It was publicly stated that by keeping them in groups they would be better able to cope with the change and adjustment to American society. In case you doubt this, CBS "60 Minutes" did 2 reports on the progress of these Iraqis in the U.S. (If 60 Minutes reports it, then it must be true, right?) Can you guess what city became home for about 70 of these former Iraqi soldiers? Any ideas about where 70 former "Republican Guards" settled down to become model citizens in the "Land of the Free"? Yep.....Oklahoma City! So there was definitely a "fundamentalist Muslim sect in Oklahoma City". They had been given an invitation to be there by none other than Bill Clinton. And now you know....the rest of the story. Nakano __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
