I know there is precedence for this idea. I do not now recall the names of the tribal groups in which the relatives of murdered individuals would sit before the homes of the murdererbegging forgiveness, but I do remember studying the principle. What fascinates me is in comparing the situation in Israel with the rather similar situation in Ireland. I keep trying to figure out why the Palestinians are happily called terrorists and treated as such, while the Irish escaped such condemnation. Perhaps I am confused as to the proper definition of "terrorist." If one is Catholic or Protestant one is not a terrorist; one must be Muslim? Or is it that if one does not kill oneself while bombing others one is not a terrorist? The puzzle continues. I remember very clearly when the IRA bombed and killed a large number of tourists, musicians and horses. I believe the attack took place in London. There was an uproar, but the British Government did not send troops to Ireland to bulldoze towns and villages. Nor did they go to Ireland and deliberately kill tourists, musicians and horses. I guess they missed a golden opportunity. That kind of action seems to generate enormous approval.
