NAVY BACKLOG OF SEA BURIALS - QUESTIONS BY RELATIVES AFTER JFK. JR. BURIAL Norfolk, VA The Navy has re-assigned more than 10 ships to make up a long backlog of burials at sea. According to Navy sources, more than 49 remains are currently being stored, waiting burial at sea. The sudden shift of warships comes after relatives complained to the Navy Dept. of delays, following the recent burial at sea of "non-military personel," a.k.a. John Kennedy, Jr., his wife Carolyn and her sister Lauren Bessette. GORESAT SHOT DOWN Capitol Hill, Washington D.C. The House Appropriations Committee killed the GORESAT satellite project by zeroing out the budget funding for NASA. The satellite, one of the many ideas from the ever talented Vice President Al Gore, was to take high resolution video images of earth and beam them over the Internet. GORESAT, of course, duplicated the function of various weather satellites that already provide daily images of the earth over the Internet. NASA bureacrats did not put up much fuss over the loss of GORESAT funding. NASA is currently more concerned with the U.S./Russian space station and keeping the aging space Shuttle fleet on budget. Expect the GORESAT to return like Haley's Comet during the joint Senate/House committee to resolve funding differences. MISSING U.S. ARMY PLANE FOUND - FOUR BODIES FOUND Bogata, Columbia Columbian Air Force units have found the remains of a missing U.S. ARMY RC-7 electronic intelligence plane. The RC-7 was based at Fort Bliss, Texas and had five U.S. Army soldiers and two Columbian Air Force officers on board. Four bodies have been found, according to CAF officers. No word on if the plane was shot down. The ARMY RC-7 has flown in support of operations in Kosovo, Korea and Iraq. The RC-7 operation in South America has been officially presented as an "anti-drug" mission in support of the Columbian Army. RC-7 aircraft DO NOT carry official U.S. Army markings. Instead, the electronic spy aircraft are painted to resemble commercial airliners. The RC-7 is a de Havilland DASH 7, four engine, turboprop, transport, re-fitted with a special SAR (synthetic aperture radar) and moving target indicator (MTI) system. The RC-7 is also equipped with the Joint Sigint Airborne Family (JSAF) electronics. The RC-7 is designed to pick-up cellular phone or radio traffic that is often associated with moving vehicles, such as an Iraqi tank column or, as in the Columbian operations, cocaine smugglers driving in the jungle. The RC-7 SAR radar is combined with radio signals interception equipment and an infra-red imaging line scanner to pin-point vehicles on the ground using radio transmitters. While not equipped with onboard super-computers to analyze burst communications, the RC-7 is equipped with a tape and satellite link re-transmit capability for the National Security Agency (NSA). The FARC Columbian rebel forces are known to shoot at Columbian Army helicopters and the small crop dusters that fly in support of anti-Cocaine efforts. FARC forces have openly used cocaine profits to finance their war against the Columbian government, and are reported to be closely tied to China. PLA SAYS ATTACK TAIWAN Beijing, China The National Defense News of China reported that the People's Liberation Army is considering three possible actions against Taiwan, a series of missile and bomber attacks, a blockade of Taiwan or, if necessary, an invasion. The NDN also noted that U.S. military support for Taiwan was "weak" and "unreliable." The National Defense News was founded and is currently sponsored by the fine folks at COSTIND, the Chinese Commission on Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. ================================================================ 1 if by land, 2 if by sea.
