More Deaths in Philadelphia – Hundreds This Year
http://www.gunguys.com/?p=2279
More and more murders in Philadelphia. The latest victims include
four men, one now dead, in a shooting at a city playground, and a
decomposed body found by authorities on Monday.
Police have identified last evening’s playground murder victim but
not the badly decomposed body found Monday.
One man was killed and three other males were wounded about 6 p.m.
yesterday at a crowded city playground in the 6000 block of A
Street, police said.
Two cars drove across the grass to the basketball courts, where
arguing and fighting ensued, followed by gunfire, police said.
According to witnesses, 60 to 70 people were at the playground, and
most took off running.
Freeman Lambeck, 27, of 5300 West Columbia, was pronounced dead at
6:35 p.m. at Einstein Hospital, according to Officer Beth DiDonato
this morning.
Already almost 200 people have lost their lives in the City of
Brotherly Love, and undoubtedly over the holiday weekend, that
number will hit 200 and most likely move on. This is literally an
epidemic of gun death– criminals have all the guns they need, and
they’re using them to slaughter citizens left and right. Every day
brings more gun deaths.
So why is all of this happening?
Lamenting the city’s violence problem, he faulted weak gun laws,
poverty, unemployment and scared witnesses.
“If these legislators don’t realize that we have a handgun problem
here in the City of Philadelphia, then there’s something wrong,”
Johnson said.
Oh, there’s something wrong, all right. Too many guns, both in
Philadelphia, and around the state of Pennsylvania, and around the
world. As long as it’s still possible for criminals to obtain
crates of handguns at Pennsylvania gun dealers (while those same
dealers face no responsibility at all for the weapons they sell),
the victim numbers will only rise more and more.
What’s happening in Philadelphia is an epidemic. It is a massacre.
And it will continue to happen until our legislators, in both
parties, wise up and realize that they need to work for their
constituents rather than the gun lobby’s selfish financial interests.

Ditto San Francisco, where 10% of LAST year's "quota" of murders
was filled IN JUST TWO DAYS.
Friday afternoon, two blocks from where I live, at the bus stop
where I catch public transit to work, a young man was shot in the
head, from a passing car, in a case of "mistaken identity." He
hadn't died yet so he wasn't included in the statistics (which show
a local homicide rate that's DOUBLED in the last decade).
Personally, I don't blame "guns," per se; I blame "urban
terrorists." The number of gang-related murders and attempted
murders is skyrocketing because those types of crimes are off-
limits to the police, who are scared shitless of the black and
Latino gangstas who are America's equivalent of "insurgents."
"Though no federal statistics are kept on murders committed by
illegal aliens, a number of groups have produced estimates based on
data collected from prisons, news reports and independent
research. 12 Americans are murdered every day by illegal aliens,
according to statistics released by Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa. That
translates to 4,380 Americans murdered annually by illegal aliens
-- 21,900 murders since Sept. 11, 2001. The total number of U.S.
troop deaths in Iraq as of last week was 2,863." http://

Ethnic gangs terrorize entire neighborhoods yet they hole up safely
in certain armed "compounds" (e.g., "housing projects") where
they're defended by scores of "underclass" characters -- illegal
aliens in hiding, parolees on the run, petty-criminal relatives
afraid to lose their welfare benefits, etc. "It takes a village."
Whenever police pursue an ethnic suspect onto his home turf, they
know they're walking into an ambush -- they can count on an ugly,
often violent, face-off with the suspect's whole "clan."
It's surprising, considering the fact we're living in a "post-9/11"
society, that U.S. law enforcement agencies haven't begun to apply
ISRAELI tactics --used against the Palestinian population,
"collateral damage" be damned should any home or village be
harboring a suspected murderer-- against OUR "urban terrorists."
The UN estimates the number of murders in war-ravaged Baghdad as on
the order of 160 a day, 1/16th the number of murders occurring
across the last two days in San Francisco, but since Baghdad is a
city with a population of about 4 million --16 times larger--
proportionally, HERE we're only about 40% "AT WAR" ...

Gunfire, stabbing leave 10 dead in weekend violence
Officials in Oakland, S.F. and Richmond see surge in slayings
Demian Bulwa, Delfin Vigil
San Francisco Chronicle, July 2, 2007
A 19-year-old San Francisco man stabbed in the back Saturday night
in bustling North Beach was among 10 people slain in the Bay Area
over the weekend, according to authorities who wondered whether the
region could see a summer upswing in violence.
Police said Jose Santillan was stabbed at Columbus Avenue and Union
Street along Washington Square Park at 11:30 p.m. He was found near
the North Beach Playground after staggering north on Powell Street,
bleeding. No arrest was made.
Since late Friday night, homicide detectives have been
investigating four killings each in San Francisco and Oakland as
well as slayings in Richmond and unincorporated North Richmond.
Oakland had two more homicides earlier Friday.
California Justice Department figures show homicides have increased
slightly in the state during recent summers. In 2005, 689 homicides
were reported from June through August, compared with 580 in the
spring, 629 in the fall and 605 in the winter.
"Kids aren't going to school," Contra Costa County Sheriff's Lt.
Jeff Jennings said Sunday. "People are hanging out and having more
parties."
He added that hotter weather brings more people outdoors and, in
some cases, agitates them.
In the latest case in the Bay Area, at 11:54 p.m. Saturday, as many
as three men fired 10 to 15 bullets into a crowd of partygoers near
Third Street and Silver Avenue in North Richmond before hopping
into one of two fleeing cars, Jennings said.
Catherine Gulley, a longtime neighborhood resident, was killed,
though police do not believe she was an intended target. Officers
had broken up the driveway gathering of 30 to 50 people an hour
earlier, Jennings said, but it had come back together.
Just a few minutes earlier in Oakland, at 11:49 p.m., resident
Melvin J. Hughes, 23, was fatally shot on the 4800 block of Fairfax
Avenue, police said. Nine hours before and just two blocks west on
Fairfax Avenue, resident Samuel N. Walker, 20, was fatally shot.
Also in Oakland, 22-year-old Kenneth Facen of San Francisco was
shot and killed at 2:54 p.m. Saturday at 77th Avenue and MacArthur
Boulevard, authorities said. Chad Fraga, 30, of Oakland was fatally
shot at 11:41 p.m. Friday in the 9400 block of Plymouth Street.
San Francisco's bloodshed began at 12:18 a.m. Saturday, when police
found shooting victim Alfonsol Roberson, 32, of Stockton, near 16th
and Seventh streets, beneath Interstate 280 at the edge of Potrero
Hill.
Four hours later, officers found Chris Garcia, 16, of Daly City,
and Gregory Jones, 15, of San Francisco, shot dead at Fitch Street
and Innes Avenue in a remote section of the Bayview-Hunters Point
neighborhood.
In Richmond, police said, 34-year-old Rodney Lee was killed and a
21-year-old man wounded in a shooting just after 11 p.m. Friday
near Ninth Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.
Police did not report making any arrests in the homicides.
