In 1987, while peaceably participating in a well-publicized human blockade
with two other veterans, Brian lost his legs when he was run over by a U.S.
Naval train as it accelerated to three times its 5 mph speed limit. The
train was carrying lethal weapons destined for murdering civilians in
Central America.
