--- Begin Message ----Caveat Lector- The President's top Republican proxy lately has become former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani, the so-called hero of 9/11. Want some info on "America's Mayor" from the recent historical past that shows him to be anything but heroic, or prepared, or a good leader, or truthful, or someone who we'd want as President in 08'? See the following websites for archived material from the Giuliani era in NYC......"Freedom is not a concept in which people can do anything they want, be anything they can be. Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do and how you do it." Mayor Giuliani, New York Times, March 17, 1994 http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Arrest-Giuliani/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nycstreetartists/ http://www.levymultimedia.com/original/www.levymultimedia.com/lederman/index .htm http://lederman.911review.org/ Newsday Giuliani stays on the stump for Bush BY J. JIONI PALMER WASHINGTON BUREAU October 27, 2004 WASHINGTON - Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani will barnstorm the country stumping for President George W. Bush in the final days of the battle for control of the White House, a Bush campaign official said yesterday. Ken Mehlman, who is managing the president's re-election campaign, said Giuliani is scheduled to make at least 18 campaign appearances on behalf of the president between now and Election Day Tuesday. Mehlman said Giuliani would be one of several GOP heavy hitters to hit the road for Bush in the waning days of the race as part of a massive Republican voter turnout drive across the country. Sunny Mindel, Giuliani's spokeswoman, said the former Big Apple mayor will be in a variety of closely contested states, including Florida, Wisconsin, Iowa and New Hampshire. Maurice Carroll, director of the Quinnipiac College poll, said that despite frequently high unfavorable opinion poll results during his two terms as mayor, Giuliani is now more remembered for his actions in the days following the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. "That's what people remember," Carroll said, adding that it makes sense that Bush would tap Giuliani for such a visible role in the campaign's final days. "He remains immensely popular. He's America's mayor." Other political and pop culture luminaries will campaign for both sides in the final days of the presidential contest, including former New York City Mayor Ed Koch and California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for Bush. Rockers Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi will perform at campaign stops for Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry. Already, the Democratic party's biggest star, former President Bill Clinton, has hit the trail with stops in Philadelphia on Monday and Boca Raton, Fla., yesterday. He will make stops in Las Vegas, Santa Fe and Albuquerque, N.M., during the next few days to rally the troops for Kerry before ending with a stop in his home state of Arkansas. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
