Ladies and Gentlemen:

Thank you for Charles Lewis' excellent commentary:

"Putting the Enron Collapse In Perspective: A Financial and Political
Scandal."
http://www.public-i.org/commentary_01_022502.htm

Your work illuminating Enron is another example of why the Center of Pubic
Integrity
is one of the rare beacons of integrity from within a culture of corruption
that has overwhelmed the management of our public and private resources.

The "lemonade" that we need is not more laws. The "lemonade" we need is to
implement to current laws regarding Enron and Enron's board and management.
We have the tools and laws necessary to identify and to take physical
possession of all monies laundered through Enron or capital gains made
fraudulently on insider trading by board members, management and their
affiliates.

With over three trillion now missing at government agencies run by companies
represented on Enron's finance and executive committees, we can not afford
to let this criminal syndicate get away with the cash. As a member of the
clean up team on the Iran Contra "S&L scandal" and BCCI, I learned that
letting the bad guys get away with $500 billion only funds their ongoing and
expanded control of banking, business and government.

Let's use the existing laws to uphold the rule of law by getting our cash
back. The financial viability of American's retirement and health care
systems depend on it.

Sincerely Yours,

Catherine Austin Fitts
Solari
Former Assistant Secretary of Housing-Federal Housing
Commissioner, First Bush Administration
